FAQ

Do you provide the van?

No, we do not provide the van and are not affiliated with any dealerships. Our clients must purchase and bring in their own vans for us to convert. Occasionally will have already converted vans for sale. However, we've done our fair share of research on vans and are happy to consult with you on finding a good deal whether new or used.

Do you provide the van?

How much does a complete van build cost?

Every van conversion is custom and we provide an itemized estimate for each one. You can complete our project inquiry form to start the process. We will set up a consultation call to discuss your build goals, specific equipment, and gear needs. On average a full conversion can cost between $20k - $80k based on vehicle size, components, systems and the quality of the materials used. No matter the build we work with you to stay within budget and ensure you get exactly what you want.

What are the payment terms?

To get a spot on our calendar, we require a $1,500 deposit, which is refundable within 30-days of the start date of your build. Once we’re two weeks out from your scheduled start date, we require a downpayment that totals the parts estimate plus 50% of the labor for your build to cover most of the material, components, and equipment that needs to be ordered for your build. The final 50% of labor (minus the $1,500 deposit) is due upon picking up completed tiny home on wheels.

What van models do you work on?

Our preference is to work on newer high roof vans such as Mercedes Sprinters, Ford Transit and Ram Promaster. However, we are always open to taking on smaller vans or unique projects that so feel free to submit a project inquiry to get started.

How do I get started?

Look over our website first and be sure to read through this FAQ for answers to some of the most common questions. If you still have questions then email us at contact@wanderlustvans.com or if you're ready you can submit a project inquiry to us for your van build!

How long does a conversion take?

Depending on our current backlog the start time can vary but most vans take 8-16 weeks to build out from the point of delivery, depending on the size of the van and how custom the build.

How do I get my van to you?

There are several ways to get your van to us. Below are a few of the more common options.

  • You can purchase your van wherever you live and take an awesome road trip to Louisville, KY! We have lots of Bourbon.

  • You can hire someone else to drive your van to us.

  • You can purchase your vehicle from a local new or used dealership and have it delivered to us.

Do you install solar systems?

Absolutely! We can install just the panels and wiring or the whole electrical system to fit your power requirements. We recommend building a separate electrical system from the vehicles that include either AGM or Lithium batteries with charging from the alternator, solar and/or shore power.
